Education makes the man. Since ancient Vedic times, men of wisdom have proclaimed that both spiritual as well as secular education is necessary to make education meaningful and complete. While the former bring about integral development of the inner personality and character of the individual, the latter equips him to engage fniitfully in his chosen field of activity in the world outside. It is our misfortune that in modem India (as in countries around the world) education has, by and large, concerned itself only with secular subjects to the total exclusion of spiritual education. The great thinkers and Seers of recent times, such as Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, Swami Sivananda Saraswati have repeatedly emphasised the urgent need for hamioniously blending spiritual education with the secular subjects taught in our institutions. It is with this objective of fulfilling this noble mission that Sivananda Centenary Boys’ High School was established.
Jai Sri Jaganath.
